About the program
What is the VEU program?
The Victorian Energy Upgrades program is run by the Victorian Government and offers rebates on approved energy-efficient products. The aim is to reduce household and business energy costs by making it cheaper to upgrade to more efficient technology.
As an accredited provider, Hughes Electrical can install qualifying products and apply the rebate directly at the point of sale. You don't need to lodge a separate claim or deal with any government paperwork.

What's covered
Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning
Replacing an old or inefficient split system or ducted unit with a high-efficiency reverse cycle system is one of the most common VEU upgrades. Eligible systems must meet the program's minimum efficiency rating. We supply and install a range of qualifying brands.
Hot Water Heat Pumps
Upgrading from a conventional electric or gas hot water system to an approved heat pump can qualify for a VEU rebate. Heat pumps use significantly less energy to heat water, reducing your bills over the long term.
Heating and Cooling Upgrades
If you're replacing ducted gas heating with a more efficient reverse cycle system, or upgrading an older inefficient unit, the switchover may be eligible. Ask us to assess your current setup.
